- Underwrote commercial insurance risks and managed claims for company with revenues of 1.2 billion.
- As a federally certified counsellor, delivered individual counseling and group training to 1000 clients.
- First federal team to negotiate the transfer of 170 employees and associated program resources to a province.
- Led a $ 30 M federal program and successfully engaged organizations to hire 100’s of people with disabilities.
- Led the transformation of 23 call centers, 1500 employees who handled 50 M calls/yr into a single network.
- Led a $ 400 M insurance programer for Canadian famers and implemented a new electronic payment system.
- Received a team award for leading the elimination of a 8,000 backlog of mandatory training while reducing program spending by $ 2.5 M annually.
- Co-led the creation and implementation of a new on-line registration system, positively impacting enhanced effectiveness of the 65 professional development courses under responsibility.
- As Director General, I led the team that developed and implemented the CFIA National Recruitment Strategy for Inspectors. Resulted in an annual savings of $ 1 M and a 50 percent reduction in recruitment time.
- As DG, I led the CFIA HR Operations team across Canada responsible for staffing, labour relations, classification, compensation, official languages and employment equity.
- Led the launch and national engagement of all stakeholders related to the modernization of Food Labeling, Consumer Protection and Canadian Organic Program 1500 regulations and policies.
- As DG, I engaged all national associations and numerous companies domestically and internationally on high profile labelling issues such as beer standard, container sizes, definition of local and new ice wine regulations.
- Negotiated and signed new/updated organic agreements with the USA, EU, Switzerland and Costa Rica representing 95 percent of the world market for organic.
- Formed and led the first all international food program and international audits. As the single point of contact for all other competent authorities it greatly enhanced coherent program delivery which support the direction of the Safe Food For Canadian Regulations.
- As DG , International single food program, I was directly involved in all handling all politically sensitive regulatory trade issues, discussions and negotiations with relevant trading partners.
- I was CFIA first member of the international food crime group working group and was also named chair of the UN-FAO-CCFL in 2012.
- Led the transformation of the first animal, food and plant international program under the leadership of one DG.
- As DG, I directly dealt daily delivery issues (POE, CAR and complaints and appeals). As well as high profile issues related to design/implementation of SFCR NAFTA, CETA, African Swine Fever, Canola, Aquaculture, trade issues with China and USA to Carcass inspection.
- Lastly, in my role I regularly interacted with other departments and ministers staff. This included preparing the senior officials for trade missions and meetings.
- Successfully negotiated on behalf of industry the expansion of trade opportunities with China worth approximately $ 225 M (pork and beef).
